"Yemaya"

Yemaya or Yemoja is also known as the mother of all orishas and is revered for her nurturing and protective spirit. She is often depicted as a mermaid or a beautiful woman with long flowing hair rising out of the waters. Yemaya is the patroness of women and governs everything pertaining to parenting, child safety, love, and healing. It's believed that all of life comes from her deep nourishing waters. Her strong and protective energy can be found virtually everywhere, but especially near oceans and lakes.
